TEACHING
Philosophy & Experience
My teaching philosophy is deeply rooted in critical feminism and post-colonialism. I believe that it is vital to dismantle hierarchies, power dynamics, classism, and the punitive nature of academia in order for all students to excel on their own terms. I also bring a strong trauma-informed pedagogy to my teaching and understand safety and wellbeing must come before any learning is possible.
As an adjunct faculty, I primarily teach online, asynchronous telehealth courses to MSW students. Through a Curriculum Enhancement Grant from Indiana University, I have co-developed and will be teaching the first course of its kind: Digital Equity and Data Justice in the MSW Direct Social Work curriculum. I have also successfully completed the Preparing Future Faculty and Professionals program at IU and am a 2022 Emerging Scholars of College Instruction Program graduate. I have experience as an academic guest lecturer and have also taught in non-academic settings including the medical field and the juvenile court system.
